Kathleen McTee Textiles

These quilts begin with white natural fiber fabric: cotton, linen, sometimes silk.
I dye, silkscreen, stamp, stencil and hand paint the cloth, then cut and piece the quilt tops,
layer with a matching backing, and finish with heavy cotton thread.

Each quilt is a one-of-a-kind work of art (which can be thrown into the washer and tumble dried).
Because you should be able to spit up on art, sometimes.
Or spill a glass of (juice, wine) now and then.
Everyone deserves to wrap themselves in art!

Custom work available.

C'est magnifique! This quilt is all cotton, in salmon, aqua and charcoal gray, with a pale celery green flannel lining. I had fun with the retro starbursts. The charcoal fabric is patterned with layers of text from Cahier du Cinema (the infamous film magazine). The subjects? Antonioni, Godard and Sam Fuller.

Start your little cineaste off right. $160.

From the Baby Rauschenberg collection...

OK, I wish! But it does have that certain abstract something. This dye-printed whole cloth cotton quilt is for the sophisticated lap or discerning infant. It has a crimson red cotton flannel lining (see detail below).

$140

Summerlicious!
This citrus quilt's top is pieced from cottons in hues of orange, yellow-orange, turquoise and olive. The back is turquoise linen. Perfect for the park. . . ahh, to laze around looking at the sky. SOLD.

Also available: flannel blankies.

At left, my son Carter's special "quilt" (after MANY washings).

These snuggly babies are dye-screened flannel with hand-dyed flannel backings. Warm enough tobe cozy, but easy to roll up and stuff in a backpack for car trips or overnights at grandma's house. $85
