Stitch Lab

The amazing Leslie Bonnell is a teacher, designer, beautiful soul and the proprietress of Stitch Lab, the craft school and fabric treasure trove where I'm honored to teach. Ms. Bonnell is a smart, encouraging, understanding instructor with a heart of gold and a wicked sense of humor. Come by the shop, take a class, and tell her I said 'hi'.

Adaptive Reuse
Christine Terrell (aka Goddess of Thrift) crafts artful, clever, fun-to-wear jewelry out of upcycled metal and found objects. I'm particularly admiring and covetous of her lovely art bracelets. She's also a talented graphic designer and fellow misanthropic mom.

Jane Dunnewold/Art Cloth Studios
Jane created the contemporary art cloth movement. She's a magnificent teacher and all-around good egg. I highly recommend her books, DVDs and classes.

Bolsa Bonita
Liz Potter brings a wicked sense of design and color to the sewing machine, and makes the coolest purses around.

Committed to Cloth
Claire Benn & Leslie Morgan, UK artists who create exquisite cloth.

Metalsgirl
I love Laura Gibson! Her creative, stylish metal/resin/herb jewelry is modern but warms the heart. Sorta like the artist! She is also a founder of Blue Dog Rescue. If you're looking for a furry new companion, there's no better place to find one.

One Creative Girl
Melissa Gable creates retrolicious collages, corsages and jewelry -- plus, she's a talented professional graphic designer. I really enjoy her fab color sense and keen eye for composition. Not to mention her dry wit and appreciation for amphibians and retro decor!

Jeff Brouws
High lonesome art photography.

Since childhood, I've been haunted by memories, images, dreamscapes
of natural history museums. This photographer's Museology series captures the sick, visceral sense of awe and terror I feel in those eerie, sacred, static spaces.
